Tell me a story: German Christmas Markets Part I

One of the nice things about Germany around the holidays is the Christmas Markets. This weekend I made it to a few (ok 5 to be exact), but who's counting. The picture quality is not the best as they were taken and edited with my iphone.

MidEvil Christmas Market atThallichtenberg Castle:

The next Christmas Market is in Wiesbaden

Couldn't resist having some nice warm Glubier

And finally the Christmas Market in Rüdesheim:

Wine crate Christmas tree

 Warm chestnuts

Christmas village & train display

Could not get St Nicholas on turn upright when loading

Tell Me A Story - Rome

 Rome...

Inside St Peter's Basilica

Putting the size of the church into perspective: The letters around the top (inside and out) are 5' high.

Papal Gaurd

Audience for Wednesday Mass with Pope Francis

Monument of Victor Emmanuel II with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Roman Forum

Inside the Colosseum

On our way back through Austria & South East Germany

This trip reaffirmed my dislike for organized tour groups - no time to take or set up a decent shot and always being rushed. But none the less it was an honor being able to be in Pope Francis' audience even though I am not catholic.
