Tell Me a Story - July 2015

Elmwood Cemetery "Norfolk Notables Tour"

I didn't realize my lens had fogged up until after I took the picture. I decided not to delete it because I thought it was a perfect lead photo for the cemetery tour.

I think the tour guides were getting annoyed with me after a while because I wasn't there to really listen to them talk I was there to take pictures.

Saying good bye to the USS Harry S Truman

USS Harry S Truman rounding the corner leaving the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA and headed out to sea. The ship was in the shipyard for 11 months for repairs.

USS Harry S Truman being escorted by four tug boats.

I had the honor of working on the ship for a year and a half as a counselor. Not many have the opportunity to work on Naval ship much less an aircraft carrier as a civilian. This is where I called 'home' for half of 2016 while deployed with the ship. Due to a significant medical diagnosis last November I can no longer go out to sea with the ship, so this is where I say good bye to the USS Harry S Truman.  It was an honor and a privilege to serve a part of the ship crew.

  2. Beth I love both sets of images. One of my favorite things to do is walk through all cemetery and look at a little piece of history. You got some beautiful image and I do love the first one. I am sorry that your stint has come to a halt on the USS Harry S Truman ship. I hope that your medical diagnosis is healing. Big hugs.
